Rocky Smith

   Director of Production

 Rocky Smith is an award-winning documentary filmmaker who graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wright State University’s Motion Picture Program in 2009. Rocky’s first documentary film, Toughman, chronicled the tragic death of a young boxer in the controversial boxing league, known as The Toughman Contest.  Toughman won “Best Ohio Short” at the Oxford International Film Festival in 2009 and “Best Documentary Short” at the Geneva Film Festival in 2010. Additionally, Toughman aired on PBS Think TV Dayton in 2011.  Additionally, Rocky served as a Board of Trustees for FilmDayton. 

In 2010, Rocky founded Rock IV Productions, a video production company that has produced promotional and educational videos for clients in real estate, medical, and other various small businesses.  Rock IV Productions continues to operate present to this day.  

Rocky Smith’s partnership with Michael Katchman have lead to the production of two short documentary films concerning the challenges for families and congenital heart disease. The Heart Within and The Final Piece: The Fontan Story.
